A mug is just a mug. Right? Certainly not, if you are a coffee drinker! Some people have a favourite mug that they use regularly. As a matter of fact, if used regularly, those mugs may get permanently stained with coffee. Then there are the specialty coffee mugs or cups. The ones that are used to serve with fancy coffee drinks, such as the cappuccino cup or the Irish coffee mug. These are the regular coffee cups that come with dinnerware sets. Most people get a set when they first get married. They are not insulated or fancy, but they undoubtedly hold a cup of coffee. Most of them come with a matching saucer if they are part of a dinnerware set. Collector and designer mugs They are just like the coffee flask that goes with dinnerware sets except they are purchased individually. They may have designs, pictures, artwork and more on them. Almost every tourist location has mugs with their location or city on them. Advertisements frequently appear on these types of cups also. Organizations order them with their brand logo to promote it everywhere. A coffee flask mug may also come in different shapes and sizes. These are cups shaped like golf balls from the local golf resort or like mouse ears. It seems like coffee mug makes have unlimited imaginations. Serious coffee mug collectors don't even drink coffee from the cups, they just put them on display and never use them. Coffee mugs with a military theme are one example of a collectible mug. Special coffee mugs Some coffee mugs are made specifically for the coffee drink type that is being served in them. The Irish coffee flask mug is used to serve Irish coffee or any after dinner drink that is coffee based. These cups are quite graceful, made of thick glass. They are often taller than conventional mugs and have a more slender design with a footed bottom. Cappuccino mugs usually look like huge bowls with handles on them. The size of the cappuccino cup is a part of the experience of basking a good cappuccino after dinner. These mugs frequently have matching saucers. Espresso cups also come with matching saucers. Travel mugs are used when you are traveling and want to carry the coffee with you. They are insulated to keep the coffee warm and often comes with a lid with a sipper section that opens and closes. Many travel mugs are made of stainless steel. They are the most popular ones used for traveling, but on the downside, you can't put them in a microwave when you reach the office. People who don't drink coffee might consider it as just another cup. But these mugs are paramount for the coffee drinkers just like the coffee cup itself.
